Meltix is a combination of two medicines used in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Apathy, and Dysphoria. It increases the level of chemical messengers in the brain, which have a calming effect on the brain and relaxes the nerves, thus treating depression.

Depression
It combines Flupenthixol and Melitracen. Flupenthixol blocks dopamine action, while Melitracen increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain to regulate mood and treat depression.
In the recommended doses, side effects are rare. These could be transient restlessness and insomnia.
Flupentixol and Melitracen tablet is indicated in:
Flupentixol and Melitracen combination provides antidepressant, anxiolytic, and activating properties. Flupentixol is a neuroleptic with anxiolytic and antidepressant properties, while Melitracen is a bipolar thymoleptic with activating properties in low doses.
Take as advised by your doctor. Swallow it whole. May be taken with or without food, but at the same time each day.
In cases of overdosage, symptoms of intoxication by melitracen, especially of anticholinergic nature, dominate. More rarely extrapyramidal symptoms due to flupentixol occur. Symptomatic and supportive measures are recommended.
Meltix Tablet may enhance the response to alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants. Simultaneous administration of MAO inhibitors may cause hypertensive crises.
This tablet should preferably not be given during pregnancy and lactation.
If previously the patient has been treated with tranquilizers with sedative effect these should be withdrawn gradually.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
